Biography

Maratbek Tulergenovich Gabdullin is a Professor, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, PhD, and a highly qualified specialist in the fields of plasma physics, nanomaterials, nanotechnology, and hydrogen energy. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2001, subsequently completed his Master’s degree with distinction, and in 2005 finished his postgraduate studies at the Department of Optics and Plasma Physics of KazNU, specializing in Plasma Physics.

In 2005, Maratbek Tulergenovich began working at the Research Institute of Experimental and Theoretical Physics at KazNU, where he advanced from Leading Specialist to Deputy Director. In 2010, he was appointed Director of the National Nanotechnology Open Laboratory at KazNU, a position he held until September 2017. From September 2017, he served as Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at the Kazakh-British Technical University, and was subsequently appointed Acting Rector of the university.

Maratbek Gabdullin has published more than 400 scientific works, 55 of which have appeared in high-ranking journals of the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, and other countries. He is the author of 9 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The scientist maintains close ties with leading world scientific centers in Germany, France, the USA, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, and serves as a member of editorial boards of scientific journals and a reviewer for high-ranking publications.

For his achievements, Maratbek Tulergenovich has been honored with numerous awards, including the titles of “Best Young Scientist” and “Best University Teacher,” the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Science and Technology named after al-Farabi, the “Altyn Adam – Person of the Year” award in the category “Figure of Science,” as well as the Presidential Medal “Қазақстан Конституциясына 25 жыл” (25 Years of the Constitution of Kazakhstan).

The Kazakhstan Physics Society (KPS) is a republican public association, a non-profit organization operating on the basis of voluntary membership.

KPS conducts its activities in the interests of its members, with the aim of coordinating the efforts of the physics community in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Society is committed to the active development of academic, professional, and institutional partnerships, fostering international cooperation, facilitating the exchange of advanced knowledge and expertise, and promoting joint progress and innovative growth.
