First Annual Conference

From October 10 to 13, the Annual Meeting of the Kazakhstan Physical Society was held for the first time at Nazarbayev University.

The primary goal of the event was to create a platform for knowledge exchange and to strengthen collaboration among scientists in Kazakhstan, as well as to develop international cooperation with physicists from around the world working in academic, engineering, and industrial organizations.

Meeting participants listened to and discussed presentations by Kazakhstani scientists covering research across various fields — from nonlinear Hamiltonian lattices and modern photonics to the capabilities of the INURA pulsed ion accelerator and dusty plasma in space.

The event was organized by the Astana Branch of the Kazakhstan Physical Society, Nazarbayev University, and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

The Scientific Program Committee was represented by leading researchers from universities across the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Buketov Karaganda University, Kazakh-British Technical University, Nazarbayev University, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, and others.

The Republican Public Association “Kazakhstan Physical Society” began its work the previous year. The association’s primary objectives included promoting the development of physical science and the dissemination of physics knowledge, conducting expert assessments and consultations on science governance and education policy, advancing high-tech industry, popularizing physics in Kazakhstani society, and strengthening both domestic scientific collaboration and international cooperation.
